Ceiling Fans: Summer and Winter Mode

Ceiling Fans: Summer and Winter Mode

If your apartment has a second or third bedroom, you'll have a ceiling fan.

In summer, the fan blades should spin counter-clockwise. This pushes cool air down, creating a breeze that helps you feel cooler.

In winter, flip the small switch on the fan (found near the motor housing) to 'Winter' and the blades will spin clockwise. This pulls cool air up and gently pushes warm air down from the ceiling, helping maintain warmth and improving energy efficiency.

Change your fan setting with the seasons to get the most out of your apartment's natural airflow.

Look on the ceiling housing above the fan blades for the Summer Winter switch.
